From Copley, Ohio comes news that shows just how far the Sebring Sprite family reaches. Robert Kansa has been in touch with an update on “Miss Saffron”, the Sebring Sprite tribute he built with his family and friends, which has become a very successful race car in the USA.

Regular readers may remember Miss Saffron from Robert’s original build story. It started as a dormant family street Sprite and was rebuilt around a second chassis, with a Sebring bonnet made in the UK and shipped over. After four years of work, almost all of it done by the family themselves, the car first ran in May 2019.

Today Miss Saffron races in the Southwind Racing colours as number 151. It runs a 1275 engine with a ribcase gearbox, alongside plenty of carefully thought-out details and upgrades.

It’s a reminder that the Sebring story reaches well beyond Sebring and Goodwood, carried on by enthusiasts wherever these little cars are raced and loved. Thank you, Robert, and good luck for the coming season!
