A REPLY FROM MARK TURNER:
“No problem. The rear had a tube glassed into it and the front had the “L” shaped bracket that were quite often drilled through and bolted to the windscreen pillar. However I didn’t like that and added Mk.2 Sebring tube fittings with a tube glassed into the front. The bar is 1/4″ stainless, probably from Ebay or Tracey tools with LH and RH threads so the alloy adjuster can tighten easily.

“Re: MORE ON 3482 JW FROM MARK TURNER – particularly his W&P Hardtop
I was very interested to see this article and its predecessor piece on your May news page, as it shows a Sprite MK 1 adorned with an original Williams and Pritchard Hardtop – and it is “fitted”. I also have a W&P hardtop, which came along with my Mk1 Sprite, many years ago – and had apparently never been fitted. It was in a terrible state when I got it and I have some work done on it, to carefully grind out and repair the crazing in the surface, but was never able to fit it, either. It hangs on the wall, at the back of my garage – waiting. See pic attached. I have, over the years tried to establish exactly how these were fitted to the Sprite screen top – and I guess that Mark may be able to give me some guidance and perhaps some close up pictures of the fitting, so that I can attempt to replicate them and get the top fitted. I’d be really interested in getting in touch with him. Any chance you could pass this email on to him, to see if he might be prepared to make contact with me? Rod Graham”.
