Having received this Austin Sprite as a project on his 16th birthday James quickly restored it for the road, with an Ashley front end and roof fitted. The decision was then made to go for a full race specification. It has a race-spoec 1360cc engine along with many other upgrades to cope with the increased power and rigours of racing. Following a winter test programme James will be competing in the CSCC Midget & Sprite Challenge Series in 2026. Following the car’s display at the NEC Classic Motor Show in November James was awarded the Brian Archer Trophy. Last year’s winner Sven Eckhardt is seen above passing on the shield to James. Congratulations James.

The ex Jerry Ellick Sebring Sprite

I was interested to hear fron David Brown back in October:
” After more than 20 years I have once again acquired the Jerry Ellick car and will finally get the car back on the road. The only real hurdle will be the restoration/rebuilding of the Dunlop calipers which are unique to the best of my knowledge. Any thoughts or history on how to deal with these would be greatly appreciated”.
David also sent me this poster he created of a replica he built for a customer but which is now going up for sale.
