496 XUM is the Austin Healey Sebring Fastback replica owned by Jez Hayter, who now looks after this website. The car was built by Mythron Cars as FRT01, the first of its Fast Road Track cars. It was built for the road and for track days, and so far its one race has been on ice.
Like every Mythron car it starts with an original Austin Healey Mark 1 chassis, fully restored, so it keeps its heritage identity as a genuine classic. On top sits a white fibreglass fastback body from AMF (Marcus Fellows), in the style of the John Sprinzel Sebring coupés.

FAT International Ice Race, Zell am See
496 XUM’s only race so far was the 2026 FAT International Ice Race at Zell am See in Austria, run on the frozen, snow-packed track alongside some very serious machinery. It finished 9th out of 33, a result that echoes the Sebring Sprites’ rally history: PMO 200 tackled the frozen stages of the 1962 Monte Carlo Rally. The plan is to go back for more in 2027.
Goodwood
The car was on display (not racing) at the Goodwood Revival in September 2026.
Le Mans Classic
In 2026 496 XUM went out on track at the Le Mans Classic, the festival of historic racing at the Circuit de la Sarthe. It took part in a track session there, not a race. The plan for the next edition is to drive down in convoy with other owners, who are welcome to join.
